About us

       We are a sister designer-duo who run a hand embroidery atelier in Chennai, South India. Chennai is home to an ancestral community of highly skilled embroiderers who specialise in Aari embroidery, also known as, tambour embroidery. 

      In 1983, our Austrian mother arrived in India and fell in love with this regional art. That year, she began a couture embroidery atelier and began creating collections with Zandra Rhodes and Matthew Williamson, among other British designers. We took the reigns in 2012 and have since started embroidering for Haute Couture and Interior designers in Italy, France, the U.K. and the U.S.A.. Our aim is to preserve this ancient craft by providing opportunities, sustaining, educating and enabling the embroiderers to showcase their craft and in turn live a fulfilling life where they can inspire the next generation to carry on this tradition.

      With our in house designs and handcrafted collections we extend to you this wonderful medium of craft.
